EQUSPACE-project members

Dr. Nico Klingner

At one of the largest ion beam centers in the world at HZDR in Dresden, Germany, I am responsible for focused ion beam (FIB) implantation.

I lead the local team and drive the technology required to place individual donors in Si-28, laying the foundation for Equspace.

Dr. Gregor Hlawacek

I am group leader of the ion induced nanostructures group at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf and responsible for the gas field ion source (GFIS) focused beam (FIB) based tasks in EquSpace.

Dr. Ewelina Gacka

"I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Ion Induced Nanostructures Group at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). Within the EQUSPACE project, I am responsible for the isotopic purification of silicon, the implantation of donors serving as qubits, as well as the micromachining of devices. For these purposes, I employ focused ion beams, available among others in the customised TIBUSSII system."

MSc. Priyal Dadhich

"I am a PhD student in the Ion-Induced Nanostructures Group at HZDR. I work on implanting single ions one by one, with the highest confidence possible. These individually placed ions will serve as the heart of spin-donor qubits in the Equspace project."

MSc. Lukas Prager

" As part of my pursuit of a PhD, I began working on Equspace in July 2025 at HZDR. My research focuses on the isotopic purification of silicon by focused ion beam irradiation, with the aim of producing the world’s purest silicon-28."
